A device use for positioning components during construction and woodworking. Some common types are the bar clamp which has one jaw that can be moved along a bar to adjust to the size needed, the c-clamp which is shaped like a C and has a threaded jaw, and the band clamp that is made up of a strap that can be wrapped around the object and then tightened. Also refers to the action of temporarily fastening object together during construction or assembly.
