Pvc Birdfeeder stand

Living on a farm we have plenty of cats and we like bird watching. The two don't go togeather as we all know. So I was thinking as slippery as PVC pipe is if I or you could come up with a bird feeder stand. Was thinking put a 90 degree elbow with 6-8" piece then another 90,short piece, and a cap. Put a pc of wood up in the cap to screw an eye screw into to hold feeder. Problem might be stability. Do you find this valuable?
